LA NOUVELLE MAÎTRESSE

La nouvelle maîtresse was a read aloud that I did with my Grade 6 French immersion students. The feedback from them was positive and they enjoyed the humour as well as the story itself. It does come with challenges-  the vocabulary can be tough! But overall, it's a great book and the whole thing can be found online. I would recommend for FI students Grades 6-8, or Core students in Grades 10-12. Below are resources made by me!

LES SONS DE LA SEMAINE

Easy to use and implement Google Slides resource for Primary French Immersion!
Prepare your words of the week using this simple template (set up with the oi sound)Students can practice individually, with partners, or small groups breaking down the sounds of the word, finding syllables, vowels, and consonants. If students are not yet familiar with orthographic mapping or finding vowels, consonants, or syllables, it is a good idea to teach this explicitly and model to the class before they are able to be more indepedant in doing it themselves.

LES VACANCES D'HIVER

IMG_3984.HEIC

No prep and easy PDF printable for your primary French students!
This activity is a great task that comes from @mrsedgarsclass on Instagram. For this task, students will choose things they did over the break and draw a picture to show it, then write sentences to go with it. This can be modified to fit the needs of your students in each grade - it can be just a drawing task, you can do more than 2 things during the break, and you can also provide students with sentences starters and/or ideas to help get them started with their sentences. In our class we talked about starting with a complete sentence "Pendant les vacances d'hiver je..." and then we made a list of verbs we could use for our sentences and I wrote the correct version of the past tense on the board for students to use. Enjoy!
